The history of diamonds is about more than beauty. For centuries, they were reserved for royalty and the wealthy, while the journey from mine to crown often came with a hidden human and environmental cost. As the industry grew into a global powerhouse, we couldn't help but ask if luxury had to come at such a price. We believed there had to be a better way.

What makes us Different?

Every year, the world mines over 100 million carats of natural diamonds, supporting an industry worth more than $90 billion. But this beauty often comes at a cost. Recovering a single carat of mined diamond can require moving hundreds of tons of earth, transforming landscapes and disrupting natural ecosystems. Mining also contributes to deforestation, habitat loss, water pollution, and high energy use.

Organizations such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Human Rights Watch have documented unsafe working conditions, exploitation, and child labor in parts of the artisanal diamond mining sector. While many leading diamond companies have strengthened ethical sourcing and labor standards, these challenges still exist in some regions.
